Jigsaw blog

How could you use the jigsaw method in your classroom if you only had 5 computers?
With only 5 computers, a teacher could either have one jigsaw group work at certain times OR have one expert group of the jigsaw groups work on research together at a time.

What could be an advantage of this method?

An advantage of having all the "expert" group work together is they could share their research information in order to complete more accurate information. Working in groups is a great change of pace for students as well to work in a more active, fun environment. Also it encourages students to work together to complete their research on time and collaborate with each other.

What could be a disadvantage?

The biggest con would be the students. If students don't work well together it could hinder project speed. If one student is slower then another in getting research, it could slow the whole group down. As well if a student doesn't give accurate information, it could hurt the group as a whole come test/quiz time.
